
PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — About 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilled into the Delaware River near the Navy Yard Thursday morning.
The Philadelphia Fire Department said diesel fuel from a pumphouse spilled into the water just before 9:30 a.m.
The spill was contained and placed under control about 10 minutes after fire crews arrived at the scene.
The Philadelphia Fire Department is working with the Navy fire station on base. The Coast Guard, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection have also been called.
Officials have not yet said how much fuel spilled into the river.
