Old City company teams with Air Force for mental health initiative

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A company in Old City is working with the U.S. Air Force so members can stay mentally fit and ready for action.

This has been a brutal year for everyone and military members are feeling the stress too, according to Chris Molaro, CEO of behavioral health firm NeuroFlow.

"The suicide rate in the military is up 20% already this year compared to 2019. So, when you think about the military and its effectiveness, that really comes down to the people that are on the front lines," he said.

"So if we could work on optimizing the performance and the resiliency of those people, of our heroes, you ultimately make the military more effective overall."

Molaro said his company's program is being offered on 11 Air Force bases across the country.

"Anybody at that base with credentials will be able to download it or log into an account that is anonymous and secure," he explained.

"The account takes them through sort of an onboarding process, goal-setting and they'll take a survey. Based on those answers, the person will then deliver the customized content to them."

Molaro said it's essential to identfy those at high or rising risk of depression, loneliness and anxiety and to quickly get them the help they need, while ensuring their privacy.
