PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Local and federal investigators said they have found three more unconscious women on videos recovered from the Olney home on Chew Avenue, as part of a lengthy death and missing persons investigation.
Police and FBI officials on Wednesday said more than a million digital files have been discovered on different hard drives and other storage devices from the home at 417 Chew Avenue, belonging to Eugene Horsch, 44.
According to Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore, two women, ages 25 and 27, are seen unconscious in the videos. A third woman, who has not been identified, is also in the footage.
One of those videos, Vanore said, shows both a woman and man, identified as Horsch’s late father Raymond.
“The female uses narcotics,” Vanore described. “During the course of this time she is then given money by Mr. Horsch and then affixed to the bed with handcuffs by him. At some point during this, using a channel lock tool of some kind, he puts a zip tie around her neck and she becomes unconscious on that video, appearing to be lifeless.”
Those are similar to videos of Gabrielle Amarando and Maribel Fresses, which were discovered last month by investigators. Officials said both women, born in 1990, were initially seen alive on camera, but later dead.
“I've got to caution you and emphasize we never do recover a body here,” said Vanore.
The investigation began on June 19, when Horsch was pulled over by authorities in Old City. Police found illegal weapons and narcotics, as well as a fake DEA ID with his photo. A woman in the vehicle with him presented the ID of a woman who had been missing since 2023.
That led authorities to Horsch’s home at 417 Chew Avenue, where they found another gun, a marijuana operation worth nearly $300,000 and bomb-making materials. They also found strange chemicals, urns with cremated remains and identification from several missing women, in addition to hundreds of thousands of images, videos, manuscripts and drawings.
Commissioner Kevin Bethel said police also identified about five dozen people who are either alive, or died of overdoses later in other locations.
“We have a duty to those families who are all concerned about whether their loved one lost their lives in the house or maybe somewhere else,” he said.
Investigators will be back out at the house in the next few weeks.
