PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Get ready for some late-night stargazing!
If skies clear up Friday and Saturday night, people in the Northern and Southern hemispheres will be able to catch the Orionid meteor Shower, which only happens once a year.
Orionids peak in mid-October and are known for both their brightness and speed, as they travel at about 148,000 mph into Earth's atmosphere, NASA says.
They are most visible after midnight in areas far away from the city or street lights.
The meteor show is expected to last until dawn.
