PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Traffic became problematic in the westbound lanes of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge due to an overturned tractor trailer and fuel spill.

PennDOT video shows the truck and its trailer on their side in the left lane heading into Philadelphia.

Fire Department and hazmat crews on-site managed to control the fuel spill and get the driver to safety.

With emergency vehicles taking up two more lanes, traffic was backed up all the way from New Jersey throughout both the morning and afternoon commutes.

Only one lane was able to squeeze by, slowing the crossing by at least 45 minutes for many drivers.
