PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Pennsylvania’s Attorney General, Dave Sunday, filed a lawsuit against a Philly-based contractor for “shoddy work” and failures to issue refunds to customers who weren’t satisfied with the job.
After receiving several complaints from Pennsylvanians, the Attorney General said Michael Davis and his company, 1st Choice Roofing, Inc. didn’t follow the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act guidelines, lacked insurance information and other essential items.
In one case, they said someone paid $500 for chimney work that was never done, and a refund wasn’t issued.
They urge anyone who may have been affected by the company to file a complaint with the Office of Attorney General online.
