PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is asking people to do their holiday shopping a little differently this year given the current circumstances.
Fine Wine and Good Spirits shops have been operating at 25% of maximum occupancy since May. The LCB’s Shawn Kelly suspects that will come into play as we ramp up for a holiday season saddled with COVID-19.
“November and December are typically our busiest months of the year. So we’re encouraging customers to be patient and understand it may take longer to get your wine and spirits this holiday,” Kelly said.
He advised people to start shopping early.
“To be honest with you, we hope business starts picking up now,” he said.
To beat the rush and avoid waiting in long lines, Kelly said to shop during off-peak hours such as early in the morning or early in the afternoon.
For those who might be uncomfortable going in a store or wearing a mask, keep in mind curbside pickup service and online shopping are still available.
