PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Officials in Upper Merion, Montgomery County, want to develop a stadium to host professional baseball and soccer teams, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The township has proposed a $200 million entertainment district at the Moore Park business complex, near the Valley Forge Casino Resort.
The stadium would hold about 7,500 people, the typical range for accommodating minor league baseball teams or women's pro soccer squads.
The chairwoman of the board of supervisors told the Business Journal that the planning process is contingent on state funding.
The township applied for a $20 million grant to jumpstart the planning process, but so far has not been awarded money for the project.
