PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Looking to jam?
Happening every Wednesday in July at the Penn Museum is the Garden Jams series. It’s an outdoor summer concert series that shines the light on local musicians.
And while you’re there listening to music, you can enjoy food and cocktails in the museum’s hidden garden oasis located just off South Street with exclusive after-hours access to the museum galleries until 8 p.m.
Attendees can also sneak a peek at the museum’s latest exhibit, Ancient Food and Flavor.
“Because what is a museum visit without seeing a new exhibit?” said Jennifer Brehm with the museum.
“Penn Museum is always about learning from the past, but this is all about food, and I feel like that’s a great connector for everyone,” Brehm said.
We have different examples of food from thousands of years ago. We have apples that are older than stonehenge, we have strawberries that are 6,000 years old.”
The series kicks off with the big band sounds of the West Philadelphia Orchestra on July 5.
