PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — With the Eagles gearing up to take on the Rams in the NFC Divisional Sunday, PennDOT is watching the forecast and preparing to clear highways before, during and after the game.

Philadelphia officials on Sunday delivered an update on weather conditions and the city's response. "We need you to know that city personnel and equipment, everything is fully deployed," Mayor Cherelle Parker said in Dilworth Park. "They're already working to handle both the storm and the extreme temperatures following behind it, salting and clearing streets."

Officials said another Code Blue will be in effect Sunday, starting at 3 p.m. Accuweather predicts 3 to 6 inches of snow by 10 p.m.

Once the snow begins, PennDOT's Brad Rudolph says it'll be all hands on deck with 430 PennDOT and contractor trucks plowing and salting in the five-county area.

Those driving to the game should allow for extra time, as Rudolph says PennDOT may need to reduce speeds or issue vehicle restrictions if snow sticks to road surfaces.

And don't forget to fill up your tank and prepare a vehicle emergency kit, which AAA Mid-Atlantic spokesperson Jana Tidwell says should include the following items:

❄ Rock salt

❄ Road traction material, e.g., bag of sand or cat litter

❄ Collapsible snow shovel to dig yourself out

❄ Snow brush and ice scraper

❄ De-icer for car locks

❄ Windshield washer fluid

❄ Blankets, sweatshirts, gloves

❄ Flashlights — with extra batteries

❄ Nonperishable snacks

❄ Drinking water

You might also want to toss in a snow brush and ice scraper, a lot of blankets, extra clothes, and snacks — in case you're stuck for a while.
