PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is offering grant money to discourage and reduce underage and dangerous drinking. Applications are being accepted now.
The PLCB started the alcohol education grant program in 1999, and since then, it has awarded $17.7 million in grants to community organizations, municipalities and educational institutions.
Past recipients include the Upper Darby Township and Lower Makefield Township police departments for enforcement patrols, training and outreach. Ursinus College was previously awarded a grant for a PSA campaign, payment for a peer educator and security officers, as well as Lincoln University for education training, program facilitation and a drunk driving simulator.
The new grant cycle is for two years, from July 2022 through June 2024. There is a maximum award of $20,000 each year. Grant applications are limited to one per organization, school, municipality or institution of higher education.
The deadline to apply is March 18. The grant application and guidelines for submission can be found here.
