PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The 2025 Philadelphia Auto Show returns this weekend. It's expected to see the largest turnout since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Cherelle Parker drove across the bridge Thursday at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in a 2025 Subaru Forester, unofficially launching the annual auto show.
“It has now literally become part of the fabric of Philadelphia,” the mayor said.
It is a significant part of Philadelphia's history, dating to 1902.
Philadelphia Auto Show Executive Director Kevin Mazzucola noted this year's show will see between 150,000 and 175,000 over its 10-day span.
Auto Show visitors will be able to explore the latest models from nearly twenty different car brands on the showroom floor. This year, it’ll feature a greater number of electric vehicles on display and available for test drives than ever before. Mazzucola says this is a unique opportunity for consumers.
“Especially considering EVs and how we’re moving from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles,” he said.
“People do not spend money on things they’re apprehensive on. And so there’s a lot of knowledge being shared.”
The show will kick off with the Black Tie Tailgate Preview Gala on Friday night, which will benefit the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
The 2025 Auto Show runs from Saturday, Jan. 11, to Monday, Jan. 20, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on 12th and Arch Streets.
