PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Pennsylvania Senate has postponed the start of the impeachment trial of Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner.

The trial was scheduled to begin on Jan 18, but a Commonwealth Court ruling has muddied the waters.

Krasner was impeached by the state House on seven articles that allege “misbehavior in office.” However, the court ruling said the allegations don’t meet the legal standard outlined in the state Constitution.

The court did not specifically say the proceedings must stop, but lawmakers involved in the process have said they’re waiting for the court’s opinion to fully understand how to move forward.
