PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — An LGBTQ activist has been arrested and charged with allegedly raping two children under the age of 13 years old.

Philadelphia police say 37-year-old Kendall Stephens, of the Lawncrest section of the city, was arrested on Monday.

She is charged with two counts of rape, indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors and related offenses.

Stephens, a transgender woman, became an activist after a mob attacked her inside her home in 2020.

Her bail was set at $250,000. Her next court hearing is slated for Dec. 29.

Stephens was a member of the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office LGBTQ+ Advisory Committee.

According to a district attorney spokesman, “the DAO has transferred this case to the PA Office of the Attorney General for prosecution. We have no further comment.”
