PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man and two young children were injured in a hit-and-run Friday afternoon in West Philadelphia, and now police are looking for the driver.
It happened at about 2 p.m. near 56th and Vine streets in the city's Haddington neighborhood near two day care centers. Police say a 43-year-old man, a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old girl were all struck and injured.
Lawrence Mckissick, a neighbor, described the scene as chaotic. He heard a woman screaming and wanted to find out what was going on.
"Listening to the lady out here screaming, saying ‘No! No! No!’ So I said, ‘What's going on?’ Then she said a baby landed in the street.”
The girl is in critical condition and the boy is in stable condition at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, according to authorities. The man sustained injuries to his head and hip and is also hospitalized in stable condition.
Police say the driver took off from the scene and later ditched the vehicle several blocks away at 53rd and Race Streets. Authorities are now searching for that driver.

Investigators say the driver is in his 50s. He was wearing tan pants and a white shirt with dark lettering.
