PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are trying to identify a suspect who they say attacked two women along the Ben Franklin Parkway two weeks ago.
According to police, the women were walking along the Parkway, near 20th Street, on the morning of Sept. 15, when a man tackled one of the women to the ground and repeatedly punched her in the face and body. The other woman stepped in to help, and the man pushed her to the ground.
After a third person stepped in to help, police say, the suspect walked away on 20th Street towards Race Street.
The suspect is described as a Black male, 6' 3" and thin. When last seen, he was wearing all black and was carrying a bright-green bag and a black backpack.
Police advise, if anyone comes into contact with this individual, not to approach but to call 911 immediately.
Anyone who can help identify the man is encouraged to submit a tip via phone or text at 215-686-TIPS, or through this electronic form. All tips will be confidential.
