PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The School District of Philadelphia announced Monday that it would be halting COVID-19 testing for vaccinated teachers and staff starting on March 14, according to a letter obtained by KYW Newsradio's Mike DeNardo that Superintendent William Hite shared with district staff.

However, it said it would continue its mask mandate, while further consulting with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health.

In a letter to parents, the district said it had been requiring COVID-19 testing for vaccinated staff for nearly a year. The district implemented a mask mandate back in August, before the 2021-22 school year began.
