PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Pancreatic cancer accounts for 7% of all cancer deaths in the United States. It is very aggressive, and rarely detected in its earliest stages.
As a result, a great deal of research is being performed to help find effective treatments and ways to detect it early.
Researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center have used a technique called bioprinting to develop a model of pancreatic cancer using human cells. Bioprinting is a new technology and the hope is that the model can be studied extensively to learn more about the cancer and its response to treatment.
