DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — The Bucks County District Attorney’s office said a pair of AirPods helped track down a man accused of breaking into a Bucks County home and pinning a woman down in her bed.
According to Bucks County District Attorney Jen Schorn, it was around 3 a.m. Tuesday, when the 25-year-old woman woke up to a man on top of her in her home on Miller Road in Southampton. She screamed, alerting her mother.
“A 25-year-old victim who resides with her mother and her father. Her father is on hospice care, very ill,” said Schorn.
“To have the presence of mind and the wherewithal to know to scream and fight with every fiber of her being, and then for her mom to physically intervene and grapple with this intruder who was, in fact, an absolute stranger to them.”
They called 911 and told Upper Southampton police they saw the man drive away in black sedan.
A knife from the kitchen was found in the woman’s bed, and an extension cord from the garage was on the floor.
The woman’s AirPods were missing. Police activated their “Find My” feature and tracked them to Aramingo Avenue near Somerset Street in Philadelphia, where they said they found Nafis Fisher, 33, in a car matching the one seen driving away from the home.
Schorn said they’re still investigating why that house was targeted. She had urged anyone who may have inadvertently given Fisher information about the home to contact police.
“It certainly would be much better for them to find us than us to find them,” said Schorn. “We are determined to find every bit of information pertaining to the motive and the opportunity to commit these crimes, these allegations.”
