PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A Thursday meeting on a proposed data center in Plymouth Township, Montgomery County, has been cancelled.
The township’s Zoning Board was supposed to hold an evidentiary hearing tonight about a data center proposal at 900 Conshohocken Road. An expert testifying on behalf of the applicant, Brian O'Neill, is still in the process of being directly examined, and cross-examination could have started tonight if not for the cancellation.
Township officials said they didn't post the meeting agenda online in time due to an "administrative oversight," and going forward with the meeting would have violated the state’s Sunshine Act.
The Pennsylvania Sunshine Act requires municipal governments to inform citizens what will happen at their meetings at least 24 hours in advance of any meeting.
In a Facebook post, No Conshy Data Centers — an organization opposing the plan — said they have "major concerns" about the meeting's cancellation.
There's no word yet from Plymouth Township on when the rescheduled hearing will be held.
