PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are searching for the driver who
who struck a 9-year-old boy in Cobbs Creek on Saturday afternoon, then fled the scene.
Authorities said the crash happened just before 12:30 p.m. near 56th and Christian streets, about a block from the Christy Recreation Center.
The child suffered multiple injuries and was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He was critically injured, but is in stable condition.
Police described the vehicle as a 2010 to 2013 Honda Crosstour, mostly burgundy in color, with a black passenger side fender, a greenish-blue passenger side front door, and a white passenger side rear door.
Police said the vehicle also has a bicycle rack mounted on the roof. The driver is described as a Black male, believed to be between 25 and 35 years old, with short hair and a beard.
