PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police say they have arrested the man they believe raped a woman inside the Macy's in Center City over the weekend.

Jaleel Uqdah, 22, was arrested without incident at his home in West Philadelphia Wednesday morning. He is charged with aggravated assault, robbery and rape.

Uqdah is accused of raping a woman in a third-floor bathroom of the Center City Macy's at 13th and Market streets Sunday morning.

The victim, a 55-year-old woman, was shopping with her husband, police say. While she was in a stall, a man jumped in from another stall, threatening her with sharp skewers.

Surveillance video shows the man, believed to be Uqdah, fleeing the store, taking the Market-Frankfort Line, and exiting at 52nd Street.

Shared images of Uqdah ultimately lead to his arrest.

"As you know, we put a video out, but working along with SEPTA we were able to track the movements of our suspect both before and after the assault when he fled," explained Capt. Mark Burgmann with the Special Victims Unit. "This allowed us to pull surveillance video from some of the SEPTA buses as well as commercial establishments in the area of where he lived. Where he got off the bus at, we were able to put these surveillance photos out, which lead to a call (Tuesday) night from a tipster."

Uqdah has a criminal history, including a pending case surrounding a burglary last June.
