
PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are searching for a man they say set fire to a Center City restaurant.
According to authorities, the unidentified man broke into a restaurant on South Broad Street, between Pine and Lombard streets, around 4 a.m. on July 25.
In footage obtained by Philadelphia police, the suspect lit a pilot on the stove, then placed flammable items from inside the restaurant on top of it, which started a fire. He then went outside and returned with a plastic trash can, which he threw into the flames.
After waiting around to watch firefighters arrive, the man was last seen going to the subway.
The suspect is described as thin, between 6 feet to 6 feet, 2 inches tall and around 20 to 25 years old.
Police ask anyone with information about the suspect to call or text 215-686-TIPS. Anyone who sees him is urged to call 911 immediately. Tips can also be submitted anonymously online.
