PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating the driver who struck and killed a 14-year-old girl last month in West Philadelphia.

Police said 40-year-old Marvin Wicker is wanted in connection with the deadly hit-and-run on Sept. 26.

Around 9:30 p.m., 14-year-old Dawn Watson and her mother were crossing Haverford Avenue at 66th Street when a 2011 Mercedes Benz sped by and struck the teen. The driver fled.

The girl’s mother wasn’t injured. Dawn was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police located the car used in the hit-and-run last week, but Wicker remains at large.

On Monday, police announced Wicker is wanted for homicide by vehicle and related charges. Officials said he may be operating a silver, two-door Chevrolet Cobalt. He is known to frequent the area of 59th Street and Haverford Avenue.

Authorities said he is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Crash Investigation Division at 215-685-3180 or 215-685-3181.
