PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police need assistance in locating a man wanted in connection with the shooting of a 15-year-old boy outside a North Philadelphia recreation center earlier this week.
Police say 20-year-old Djean Williams, from the 1000 block of Seybert Street, is wanted for attempted murder, violation of the uniform firearms act and related charges.
Just after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Dendy Recreation Center on 10th and Jefferson streets, a suspect, who police believe may have been Williams, rode up on a bicycle and shot the 15-year-old.
The teen was shot in the right side of his back and taken to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Williams is described as 6 foot, 5 inches and about 220 pounds. Police ask that anyone with information on him or the incident contact the Shooting Investigation Group at 215-686-8270 or submit a tip on their website.
The City of Philadelphia offers a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction for any shooting near a recreation center or school.
