Police investigating illegal car meet that took over busy Plymouth Township intersection

Police are investigating an illegal car meet-up that took over a busy intersection of Plymouth Township Sunday night.

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are investigating an illegal car meet-up that took over a busy intersection of Plymouth Township Sunday night.

Around 50 to 100 people gathered at the intersection of Ridge Pike, Chemical Road and North Lane around 8 p.m.

Video released by police shows participants blocking cars at the intersection. Several drivers did donuts and some people set off fireworks.

Participants fled the area when police arrived. Officials have identified several vehicles of interest but have not tracked down any of the drivers.

Police said nobody was injured.
