HUNTING PARK (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities arrested a man Wednesday morning wanted for shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend's father two years ago in Northeast Philadelphia.
Officials said Nicholas Santiago, 31, was taken into custody at a home on North Fairhill Street off Rising Sun Avenue in Hunting Park.
The shooting happened back on June 9, 2023, when police said Santiago got into an argument with his former girlfriend at her home on Jackson Street off Princeton Avenue in Tacony. During the argument, Santiago allegedly made threats toward her family before leaving.
Authorities said Santiago returned a short time later and was confronted by his ex-girlfriend's father, Thomas Dooner. That's when police said he pulled a gun out on the 38-year-old and shot him several times.
Santiago drove off in a white Jeep and was on the run until his arrest Wednesday morning.
