PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police released the name of a suspect seen on surveillance footage last month running up behind an elderly man and fatally shooting him in the head steps away from his home in Juniata.

Authorities are searching for 24-year-old Wagner Tejeda-Pena, who is believed to be the man who killed 77-year-old Loi Nguyen on June 21 around 5:30 a.m., as he was returning from a morning walk.

It happened in an alleyway near L and East Bristol streets.

Police say Tejeda-Pena is also wanted for an aggravated assault that happened shortly beforehand and several blocks away. Officials say he pulled a gun on two people and tried to discharge it, but the gun malfunctioned. They got in a physical fight, and Tejeda-Pena fled.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911. Tips can be submitted via call or text at 215-686-8477, or sent anonymously online.
