PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police have released video of a deadly shooting this week on a SEPTA bus in South Philly. They are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect.

It happened on the 1300 block of Snyder Avenue just after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Video shows the suspect boarding the Route 79 bus before getting in a dispute with another passenger, identified as 37-year-old Carmelo Drayton.

The fight turns physical, and Drayton is seen throwing the suspect off the bus. The suspect then pulls a gun, shoots Drayton multiple times, and runs off. Drayton was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.

The suspect was last seen getting on a southbound train at the Snyder Avenue Broad Street Line station. Police say he’s been spotted getting on SEPTA property several times since the incident.

He was last seen wearing a black puffy hooded jacket with red lining inside the hood, a black ski mask with a Nike logo on the left side, light grey sweatpants and black shoes.

Investigators ask anyone who recognizes the suspect to contact them at 215-686-8477 or submit an anonymous tip here.

This incident was the third of four shootings this week involving SEPTA.
