PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Philadelphia Police Department has released new surveillance video of two suspects wanted in connection with the shooting death of a Penn State student Saturday morning in South Philadelphia.
The series of images show two male suspects, possibly teenagers wearing masks and hoodies walking around the area of 20th Street from Ritner to Jackson Streets before encountering 22-year-old Billy Schmidt.
Officials said Schmidt was robbed of his cell phone around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. He was then shot and killed along the 1900 block of Durfor Street.
Police said after the shooting the suspects fled on foot ditched their hooded sweat shirts and masks. They were last seen in the area of 22nd and Porter Streets.
One of the suspect’s hoodies, recovered at the scene, has skulls and cross bones on the back and front with the word “confused” on the back, spelled backwards.

The city of Philadelphia is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in every homicide.
