PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — In a rare move, Philadelphia police posted a video asking for the public's help after Tuesday's double shooting in West Philadelphia.

Near 62nd and Chestnut streets, a 15-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man were both shot in the head in the middle of the afternoon.

"It's a very busy intersection between Chestnut and Cobbs," said Officer Justin Harris in the video. "Two young humans were gunned down (Tuesday) in broad daylight."

The man was listed in stable condition Tuesday. The teen girl is still fighting for her life.

"These are not just numbers on a board," Harris emphasized. "These are human lives. Imagine if this was your niece, your daughter, your sister, your brother, your son. Please. It takes all of us."

Hours after this incident, an unrelated shooting occurred near 53rd Street and Haverford Avenue. A 17-year-old pregnant teen was shot in the leg, and a 20-year-old man was shot in the back.

Anyone with information on either shooting is urged to call 215-686-TIPS.
