Video: Man shot, killed while pumping gas in the middle of the day

Police searching for two suspects seen on video ambushing victim

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are searching for two suspects seen on surveillance video fatally shooting a man who was pumping gas at a station in the Stenton section of the city.

The shooting happened on May 9 at 2:30 p.m. Investigators say two men, wearing all black, approached the victim at the Liberty gas station on East Mount Airy Avenue, near Lowber Avenue.

Surveillance video shows the offenders’ car circling the station for a bit. Then, two men exit the back seat and start firing. One appears to be holding an assault rifle.

The two return to the car and flee west on Mount Airy Avenue.

Several other cars were parked at the gas station during the shooting, video shows. The victim was hit and died of his injuries.

The suspects were in a red 2009 Mazda 3 with a New Jersey license plate, V62-PWX.
