PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Thousands will be hitting the streets this weekend as the Philadelphia Marathon kicks off … Which means headaches galore for drivers.

The half marathon is Saturday and the full marathon is Sunday. Both start at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway at 7 a.m.

The city says parking regulations will be strictly enforced, so pay attention to signs. If your car is parked along the race route, it will be relocated starting 2 a.m. Saturday.

They say the areas near 18th Street and the Parkway and Logan Circle will be closed to traffic until 11:30 a.m.

Crews will start closing roads overnight Friday. The I-676 off-ramp at 22nd Street and the I-76 off-ramp at Spring Garden will close at 4 a.m. both days.

SEPTA routes are also expected to be impacted. A list of impacted lines can be found here. For more information on road closures and detours, check out this link.

Stay tuned to KYW Newsradio for traffic and transit updates throughout the weekend.
