FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — A 9-year-old boy suffered a head injury after his school bus was hit by another school bus Thursday morning in Franklin Township, Gloucester County.
A bus carrying five students T-boned another bus, which had one student aboard, near the intersection of Taylor Road and Reed Avenue just before 8 a.m.
Franklin Township Police Chief Matthew DeCesari said the 9-year-old student was on the bus that was struck. He was taken to the hospital.
“Basically just precautionary at this time, but he did have a nice knot on his head,” he said.
DeCesari said the boy lives up the street and police notified his parents right away, and they were able to go to the hospital with him.
No other injuries were reported. The other students were put on another bus and taken to school.
Police are trying to figure out the cause of the crash. They will go through video footage from the buses’ onboard cameras to see what exactly happened.
