School crossing guard struck by car in Burlington County

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A school crossing guard is in critical condition after being hit by a car Friday morning in Burlington County, New Jersey.

Around 7:20 a.m., authorities said a driver heading southbound on Jacksonville Road in Burlington City struck the guard, who was standing in a crosswalk on James Street.

The unidentified crossing guard was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with Burlington City police.
