ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (KYW Newsradio) — A dead humpback whale was found washed up on the beach in Atlantic City Saturday morning.

Officials say the 30-foot whale was found near Boardwalk Hall, located on South Mississippi and Pacific Avenues around 8 a.m.

This is the second time in almost three weeks this has happened, with the first taking place on Dec. 23 near the Tropicana.

Officials say samples of the whale were taken to determine the cause of death and it will likely be buried at the beach once the tests are complete.
