PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Delaware Sen. Chris Coons was involved in a multi-car crash Sunday.
Officials said the accident happened around 10:20 a.m. in Lewes, Sussex County.
According to a statement issued by the senator's office, a driver who had a "medical incident" collided with several cars, including the one he was riding in.
The senator was transported to Beebe hospital and treated for minor injuries -- he is now home and expected to make a full recovery.
Sen. Coons thanked the first responders for their "prompt and professional response" and said he's relieved no one was seriously injured during the accident.
The accident is under investigation.
