PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio)SEPTA says it will help ease the commute for Phillies fans and concertgoers headed to the South Philadelphia sports complex this weekend.

Traffic is expected to be congested, with a pair of Phillies playoff games and a Billie Eilish concert scheduled. SEPTA will offer extra service on the Broad Street Line to accommodate increased ridership.

On Saturday and Sunday, SEPTA will supplement regular service to NRG Station in South Philly with six express trains leaving Fern Rock Transportation Center every 10 minutes beginning at 1 p.m.

First pitch for both National League Division Series games this weekend is scheduled for 4:08.

Pop star Billie Eilish will perform at the Wells Fargo Center Saturday at 7 p.m. The transit agency says two additional express trains will depart from Fern Rock at 5:40 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. on Saturday.

SEPTA isn’t the only agency making changes to accommodate the playoffs. PennDOT also announced it has canceled a planned closure this weekend on the eastbound Schuylkill Expressway, in order to alleviate traffic congestion expected ahead of the Phillies games.
