PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — SEPTA says regional rail passengers on the Wilmington Line had to be moved to a rescue train in Southwest Philadelphia on Thursday morning after their original train was misdirected.
Spokesman Andrew Busch says Amtrak sent the train down a track in the University City area that had been de-energized, and after it ended up there, it could not be moved.
The train was heading into Center City, and passengers were moved to a rescue train around 9 a.m. No injuries were reported.
Amtrak has not yet responded to requests for comment.
