Man accused of shooting bystander outside Morrisville gentleman’s club surrenders to authorities in Bucks County

MORRISVILLE, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — The man who shot a bystander outside a Bucks County gentleman’s club overnight is now in police custody. According to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, after initially fleeing the scene, Pedro E. Rodriguez, 27, surrendered to authorities on Thursday afternoon.

Around 1:15 a.m. Thursday, police say, there was an altercation at the doorway of The Border Gentlemen’s Club in Morrisville, located on Pennsylvania Avenue near Route 1.

A bystander, who was trying to help staff defuse the situation, was shot in the back of the head, thigh, and under both armpits. The 28-year-old was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

No other injuries were reported. Investigators said the victim did not know the shooter.

Police said the shooter, who they identified as Rodriguez, fled north with a second man on Route 1 into Trenton, New Jersey, in a Lexus SUV. Officials issued an arrest warrant for Rodriguez.

In addition to attempted homicide, Rodriguez, of Trenton, is charged with two counts each of aggravated assault and simple assault, one count each of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure and possession of an instrument of crime, and 17 counts of recklessly endangering another person.

He is held at Bucks County Correctional Facility on $5 million bail.
