PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities said police shot and killed an armed man outside St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in the Hunting Park section of North Philadelphia Thursday morning.
Around 10:30 a.m., police responded to reports of a man with a gun on Erie Avenue, in front of the hospital.
A woman nearby was injured, though it’s unclear whether she was shot. She is expected to be OK.
Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said an investigation is underway into the man’s motive.
