PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A customer shot a deli worker during an argument in West Philadelphia Monday night.
It happened around 7 p.m. at the Quick and Quality Breakfast and Deli at 48th and Spruce streets.
The gunman was in the store about 40 minutes before the shooting, then left. When he came back, he started arguing with the female cashier.
Another worker tried to break up the fight, but that escalated the situation.
Police Inspector D.F. Pace said, “The customer ultimately, who we now know to be the shooter, invited the person outside, but it was at that point that he pulled a gun and fired multiple times in his direction, striking him three times.”
Pace said the wounded employee is in serious but stable condition.
