SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with a fight and stabbing outside the Showboat Resort in Atlantic City earlier this month.
Investigators said a verbal altercation turned physical on April 5. Police said 38-year-old Quheem Whitehead, of Newark, New Jersey, chased after a woman and struck her in the head, causing her to fall. Then, they said, he punched and kicked the victim in the face multiple times.
While Whitehead was beating the victim, police said 31-year-old Kiandre Harris, of Maryland, stabbed Whitehead twice in the back with a pocketknife. Harris was arrested in Maryland by U.S. marshals, and he is charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
Police said Whitehead fled the scene and later arrived at the hospital with stab wounds. He is charged with aggravated assault.
Marquita Wilson, 41, also of Newark, is also charged with aggravated assault.
All three suspects are being held at the Atlantic County Jail.
