PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The 2022 Philly Pride March and Festival take place Sunday, June 5.
This year's Pride celebration marks the 50th anniversary of Philadelphia’s first gay pride demonstration, held in 1972.
New organizer PHL Pride Collective have reconceived the parade as a march open to everyone. That kicks off at 5th and Arch streets at 11 a.m. It's followed at noon by a street festival starting at 12th Street and St. James Place.
The following street closures will be in place from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Juniper Street between Walnut and Cypress streets.
Cypress, Locust, Spruce and Chancellor streets between Juniper and 12th streets
South Camac, 12th and 13th streets between Walnut and Spruce streets
Quince Street between Walnut and Locust streets
St. James Place between 12th and 13th streets
And Latimer and Manning between 12th and S. Camac Streets.
Temporary "no parking" signs will be posted on those streets.
