PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in Pennsylvania continue to decline.
Pennsylvania's positivity rate, or percent of tests coming back positive statewide, dropped another percentage point to 7.6%.
That is down from 9.6% two weeks ago. Under 5% is the goal.
For the second week in a row, total new statewide cases for the past seven days dropped by more than 4,000 for the entire week.
Statewide, average daily hospitalizations dropped 277 per day.
Delaware County saw a sharp decline in cases. The average of new cases over the past seven days dropped from 165 to 107, and the positivity rate dropped almost two percentage points to 6.6%.
Chester County's positivity rate dropped about one percentage point to 6.2%. The seven-day average of new cases dipped from 111 per day to 86.
Bucks County's positivity rate dropped to 7.3%, while average daily cases dropped by 50 per day, from 185 to 135.
Montgomery County's positivity rate went from 8.1% to 6.9%. The seven-day average of new cases dipped from 188 to 158.
