PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A woman is dead and a man is critically injured after a suspected carbon monoxide leak inside a Bucks County house.

A person who lived at the residence — a cottage house along the 6900 block of Phillips Mill Road in Solebury Township — called police around 6:30 a.m. Friday to report a 76-year-old man semi-conscious on the floor.

Detective Sergeant Jonathan Koretzky said paramedics were first on the scene.

"Upon entry into the cottage house, they were overcome with what appeared to be at the moment an extreme amount of carbon monoxide, which was causing lightheadedness and dizziness and shortness of breath,” Koretzky said.

The 76-year-old man was taken outside and treated. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Police then went to the second floor of the house and found a 76-year-old woman, later identified as model and actress Dayle Haddon, dead.

Koretzky says it appears a heating unit in the house malfunctioned, which caused "a large amount of carbon monoxide within the house." According to our partners at NBC10, the house was owned by Haddon's son-in-law, actor Marc Blucas.

Haddon was known for promoting L'Oréal anti-aging products and regularly appeared on the covers of fashion and beauty magazines, including the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 1973.

She also starred in several films in the 1970s, including “Madame Claude” and “North Dallas Forty," before pursuing philanthropic work and founding the nonprofit WomenOne.

Two medics were also treated for carbon monoxide exposure. They're in stable condition.
