CENTER CITY (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are asking the public's help to identify four suspects they said cut copper wire from the city's 'Portal' livestream machine in Love Park last month.
To help, police released new surveillance footage on Tuesday of the suspects they believe to be involved.
Authorities said the wire was stolen on Feb. 1 around 5:30 in the morning inside the park at 15th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard.
The suspect seen on video wearing a bright red or orange jacket, is believed to be the one who cut the wire and then left the scene with it inside a large green and yellow trash can pushed by another suspect.
The portal, installed in October of last year, is an art installation that connects a livestream video with other parts of the world. Philadelphia's portal connects to one in Vilnius, Lithuania; Lubin, Poland; and Dublin, Ireland.
Anyone with information on the suspects, is asked to contact Central Detectives.
