Catholic school teacher accused of sending sexually explicit photos to 14-year-old student

WILMINGTON, D.E. (KYW Newsradio) — Police in New Castle County, Delaware, have arrested a teacher for sending sexually explicit photographs to a 14-year-old former student.

Officials say 24-year-old Alanis Pinion, an eighth grade teacher at St. Mary Magdalen School in Wilmington, frequently communicated with her students via Snapchat, and sent inappropriate photos to one of them.

Pinion was taken into custody Thursday and charged with sexual solicitation of a child under 18, endangering the welfare of a child and indecent exposure.

Authorities say the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington has been informed and fully cooperated with the investigation.

Police are concerned there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
