PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The area’s biggest Coca-Cola bottler and distributor has reached a tentative agreement with striking workers.

Liberty Coca-Cola in North Philadelphia said the new contract with the Teamsters Local 830 labor union includes wage increases over the next five years and “considerable benefits for health and welfare and retirement plans for employees and their families.”

The company said the contract has the “highest wage increases in Coca-Cola/Local 830’s history.”

A spokesperson for the union said the details of the deal are still being worked out, but members are going back to work.

More than 400 workers picketed for three weeks outside Liberty Coca-Cola’s North Philadelphia plant on East Erie Avenue.
