PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 17-year-old boy was killed and two other people were hurt in a shooting over the weekend in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
It happened around 10 p.m. Saturday near North Jay and East North streets.
All three victims were taken to the hospital; the teen was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Police did not disclose additional details about the victims or the motive for the shooting.
In a statement, Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk said the city “has to do better.”
“Among the great tragedies of our time is that so many guns find their way into the hands of so many young people so easily,” he said. “We have to do better. We have to stop the flow of guns into the hands of young people.”
An investigation is ongoing.
